Abstract:

Warehousing is a crucial element of logistics and plays a pivotal role in a company’s success. With the rise of e-commerce, warehouses have become more critical than ever in the logistics chain. Typically, warehouses receive, store, preserve, retrieve, and deliver millions of products daily or weekly. Consequently, warehouse systems are continuously evolving to facilitate the smooth flow of products in logistics. In recent years, numerous studies have focused on warehouse development. As a result, new warehousing systems, referred to as Warehousing 5.0, are being introduced and increasingly implemented in warehouses. This seminar evaluates the current state and future prospects of Warehousing 5.0, incorporating emerging technologies such as collaborative and compact storage/retrieval systems.
