Abstract:
In the era of Industry 4.0, the accurate positioning of assets and personnel within indoor environments is crucial for optimizing operations and enhancing safety. This seminar presents the key principles of indoor positioning, exploring its technologies, challenges, and diverse applications. The discussion begins by exploring the main uses of indoor positioning across different areas. By addressing challenges and performance metrics, participants will gain insights into the intricacies associated with implementing and optimizing indoor positioning systems. Subsequently, the seminar delves into indoor localization and indoor navigation. It includes the technologies, sensors, and positioning techniques used to estimate a position indoors. It also reflects about indoor navigation, detailing the process to estimate a route indoors. Lastly, the seminar focuses on indoor localization for Industry 4.0, highlighting indoor positioning’s transformative potential in industrial scenarios, with a particular focus on industrial vehicle tracking.
