Abstract:

Sustainability and resilience of logistics networks are essential. This presentation provides insights into effective strategies and best practices for fostering human-centric sustainability and resilience in logistics networks. Understanding the crucial role of human factors in shaping the sustainability and resilience of logistics operations, this presentation explores the intersection of human-centric approaches and logistics network management. Key practices include the integration of human factors into sustainability and resilience frameworks, the importance of stakeholders’ engagement and collaboration, and the adoption of innovative technologies to enhance human-centric logistics practices.

Dr. Hella Abidi has exceeded across diverse roles corporate development, research, and academia. Currently, as Corporate Business Development Manager Solutions at DACHSER SE, Kempten, since 01/2023, focusing on digitalization and climate protection initiatives. Formerly, as Consultant Research & Development from 04/2016, she led urban logistics research in Europe within the City Distribution Project at DACHSER. Her academic commitment is evident as a Senior Lecturer at CBS International Business School and FOM Hochschule, Essen. She also lectured at Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham (GB). Additionally, from 03/2011 to 08/2015, she served as a Research Project Manager and Assistant at FOM ILD, contributing to pivotal projects like WiWeLo, DOWERT, and E-Route, each aimed at advancing logistics and transport efficiency. Dr. Abidi holds a Ph.D. from VU University Amsterdam, specializing in Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
